Backstage at the ECFS

In the spring of 2016 photographer and artist Emidio Battipaglia asked if I would like to join him on a fashion shoot. I went along and he tasked me with capturing backstage. My first time on a shoot, I stumbled around the periphery.

I was led by a desire to capture the students morphing into models, that liminal space between who they were and who they were about to become on the catwalk.

Two models facing each other and making faces at each other, their eyes wide. They are wearing similar orange and blue outfits and their hair is plaited.

A gothic futurism vibe emanated as upcycled sustainable design asked us to reflect on our relationship with mass-produced textiles.
